What you check before you quote. The facts behind a sum insured, from the building’s own record.

Size and volume

Footprint, height and gross volume from the building’s own outline. Every height says whether it was measured or estimated, so an estimate never passes for a measurement.

Age and use

Construction year, floors, built area and declared use, wherever they are known.

Local climate

Coldest and hottest days, frost days and rainfall at the building’s location.

What is on the roof

Existing solar panels, checked on dated aerial photos. Each check carries the date of the photo.

Commercial prospects

Companies whose registered office is the building’s exact official address. Shown as a registered office, never as ownership.

From an address to a priced risk. Three steps, in one workspace.

  1. 01

    Find the building

Search an address or draw an area on the map. Every building in it has a record.

  2. 02

    Read the record

Geometry, building facts, local climate and roof in one panel, each value marked measured or estimated.

  3. 03

    Take it into your systems

Export the buildings as CSV or query an area through the API, with the same fields you see in the app.

Insurance questions. What the record holds, and what it does not yet.

Which building facts does baseray hold for insurers?

Footprint, height and gross volume for every building, with the height marked measured or estimated; construction year, floors, built area, declared use and cadastral number where known; local climate extremes, frost days and rainfall; existing solar panels on the roof; and the companies registered at the address.

Are construction year and use known for every building?

No. Construction year, declared use and built area are shown where they are known. Where a field is missing, the record says so instead of filling it in.

Does baseray show seismic or flood risk?

Not yet. Today a record holds the building’s geometry, building facts, local climate and roof. We will add hazard layers only when they can be shown per building, with their date.

Can I enrich an existing portfolio?

Yes. Query the areas your portfolio covers through the API, or export them as CSV, and join the buildings to your policies by location. The API returns the same fields as the app.
